Make A Smartphone Projector

Long about mid-2013 there were rumors circulating that the iPhone 5C would be out soon, and that the "C" stood for color. Personally, I'm waiting for the iPhone 8H, which would be the iPhone "Holographic" version. You may think this is a little too futuristic, but I assure you it's not. Cell phones with holographic projectors do not need to only exist in science fiction; The Minority Report and Star Wars. Right now IBM has a huge research and development team working on this, and there are several companies that make holographic projectors which are about the size of a brick.

With the new 4G wireless technology there will be enough bandwidth to handle all the data needed to project in 3-D holograms. So does that mean that a holographic projector is a future smart phone accessory? Yes, I believe so and eventually all of this equipment will be embedded within a very thin iPhone. It's only a matter of when, no longer if. The technology exists now - it's just a matter of shrinking it, and bringing down the cost. Moore's Law has done that in just about every other high-tech sector, and I can only assume that Intel will soon have 3-D holographic chips (inside) for lightweight personal tech in the near future.

How might this work you ask? Well, you might be talking to someone and they will turn on their video cam on their smart phone, and it will take a 2-D rendering of them in full motion and add in the three-dimensional version and beam that information to the receiving party, which will then be projected into a hologram originating from their phone. How about five years from now? That sounds about right considering how fast the technology is moving out. Yes, of course the first versions will cost quite a bit, and an average person probably won't have them.

Nevertheless considering all the applications for video games and communication, and the need for sending ideas and designs through the "Internet of things" as well is the future availability of such software and bandwidth, surely all of this will be used for communication, so eventually everyone will have it, and why not?

We do have the technology, and some smart entrepreneurial company, perhaps Apple, or perhaps another high-tech company will absolutely steal the show in personal tech with such a new device. Imagine that? Yes, imagine it, because it will soon be here, you'll soon be using it, and your children will wonder what it was like back in the old days when cell phones could only talk. Please consider all this and think on it.
