World Biggest Gold Mine Found in Pakistan

My name is John Potter and I am a photographer and entrepreneur. When I was starting up my own business in 2008, I had to face a super competitive market. I did the math and realized that the costs of setting up a company, and the cost of running it were way too high. I desperately needed an alternative cheaper way out.

This is when I was introduced to outsourcing by my business partner (and best friend), Tim, he sounded so excited as if he had found a gold mine. He said, "You know what, I had a power cut and I called up the supply company. Guess what happened."

"Considering that you called me up in the middle of the night to tell me this, I'd say your call was received by Mr. President himself? I'm sure he's sorry about your power cut", I said with as much sarcasm as I could get. "No," he said, "it's even better; I got to talk with someone from Pakistan! You know what this means? The solution to our problem is outsourcing!" Can you imagine running a fully fledged company and generating huge revenues with only a small office space or no office space at all?

Ever thought of having a virtual assistant who does all the work of an assistant without even meeting you? She can send flowers with a personal note to your clients across the globe, set up meetings for you, even send 'I miss you' cards to your wife without occupying any office space or asking for leaves. Can you imagine an efficient working staff that is thousands of miles away from you? This is the power of outsourcing. Why spend your hard earned money and extremely valuable time on getting local resources when you have more economical options around the world?

Outsourcing is a powerful tool, in very little time I was able to hire people across the globe to do jobs like data entry, research, publicity, advertisement and finance management for me.

I realized that when small start-ups combine with global exposure and expertise, they are all set to compete with any huge market name. There are not many companies that work 24*7, 365 days. With outsourcing, you are productive even when your competitors are sleeping. Isn't it great to be a step ahead?

Now, outsourcing your work doesn't mean you can sit back and relax. I once heard of a professor at a university who paid part of his salary to another teacher to teach on his behalf. The whole thing ended in embarrassment and firing of both the professors. Imagine students thinking they were taught by someone they had never even seen. It is important to know what part of your work you can outsource. Never outsource your core activities.

Remember that you can't do all the work yourself. In the beginning, I wanted to do it all myself, and I ended up in a messy pool of finances, management, legal paperwork, marketing and what not. Result: Tim declared me insane and made me delegate the 'not so important work' while I did all the main things. I am still thankful to him for saving our company and also giving me my sane life.
