So you are thinking of going tiger shark fishing. Well, here are a few thing that you need to know before you go out on your tiger shark fishing trip. Tiger sharks are found in various places around the world. You can find both in up close to the shore or in the open waters of the southern Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, West Indies, and Caribbean. They are also known to frequently visit the warm Pacific waters from southern California to Peru. They are even occasionally found off the Northeast and Pacific Northwest coasts in mid-summer.

Tiger sharks are not very picky eaters. They will attack and try and feed on just about anything any time that they can. When I say they will eat about any thing, I mean any thing! These sharks in the past have been caught and then cut open to find a wide variety of critters and objects inside of them including fish, crabs, turtles, stingrays, birds, other sharks, nuts and bolts, lumps of coal, articles of clothing, boat cushions, tin cans, various garbage, human limbs, the hind leg of a sheep, and even a few car license plates.

It is because of this sharks tireless feeding habits and when hooked extremely acrobatic tendencies have made this fish among one of the favorites for shark fishing enthusiast and sought after by even the most seasoned big-game bounty fishermen for a full test of their fishing skills. The result of this sharks popularity has also made it very popular with big-game fishing captains from around the world, but even with this sharks popularity sometimes these anglers forget to treat this eating machine with the utmost care and respect.

This is what gets them in trouble. Sometimes even before they are even hooked, Tiger sharks will try to jump into a boat to reach the source of the chum they've been following. Plus they have even been know to bite people who did not fight these sharks until they were fully exhausted. Also if you are not planning on releasing these sharks after capture it is highly recommended that every effort should be made to kill any shark before bringing it on board the deck of your boat. Remember any shark can bite with full force even while breathing its last breath. Remembering this will reduce any chance of accidental injuries to you or your crew. So remember play it safe out there and take your time when capturing these dangerous creatures!
